New home, training and a photo shoot05 - 04 - 12

We’ve had a full on couple of week since coming back to France starting with delivery of our boats from Les Sables to Lorient, our latest home. Here we’ve been training with top French coach Tanguy Leglatin and were joined last week by Mike Hart.

First race, fog and the Bizuth podium21 - 03 - 12

After all the build up, we have now completed our first Figaro race and it feels great to finally have one under the belt. Before the race start I was spending a lot more time than I would normally running around doing jobs on the boat with my head was full of thing like how to seal the propeller, rather than the best strategy for the first leg!

It’s been a hectic couple of weeks as we moved from our winter training ground in La Grande Motte up to the Atlantic coast. This involved a lot of boat work, stripping down the masts and preparing to truck the boats whilst trying to knock a few jobs off an ever-growing list!

La Grande Motte has just got nice and warm so to make sure we don’t get too soft we are heading North to prepare for our first race - the 320 mile La Solo Les Sables!

The start of the week was a bit of a drift around but on Thursday the Mistral winds arrived and we had between 20 and 35 knots of wind.
