The Solo Figaro Massif Marine 2012 gets underway in poor visibility 16 - 03 - 12

The 28 solo skippers and 1 double-handed team will have their concentration tested to the max during the Solo Figaro Marine Massif 2012 as testing weather conditions make a game of tactics for the first official Figaro race of the season.

Artemis Offshore Academy Soloist’s Prepare for First Major Figaro Race of the Season 13 - 03 - 12

Five British Artemis Offshore Academy skippers will be lining up for the 320-mile offshore Solo Figaro Massif Marine 2012 starting on Thursday 15th March at midday [CET]. The British sailors on the roll call include the 2011 Solitaire du Figaro competitor Sam Goodchild, and for ‘Rookies’ Nick Cherry, Oliver Bond, Aaron Cooper and Henry Bomby it will be their first ever solo Figaro race.

UK Mini Solo Training Programme gets underway in Cowes, UK 13 - 03 - 12

The first UK Mini Training Programme weekend supported by the Artemis Offshore Academy was held in Cowes last weekend (10th/11th March). Four solo Mini sailors attended the training weekend lead by RYA coach Adam Bower, author of ‘RYA Speed: Sail and Rig Tuning’.

The UK Mini Training Programme has been set up to help British Mini sailors enjoy similar programmes to the French sailors who dominate the class. The training will be run from Cowes, Isle of Wight over a series of four weekends starting this weekend (10th to 11th March).

A great start for Sam Goodchild and Nick Cherry in the 3890nm Transat AG2R La Mondiale
