Selection Trials Over as Jonny Malbon starts leg 2 of Cap Istanbul 28 - 09 - 10

While the first round of Artemis Offshore Academy selection trials were coming to end at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy last week, Artemis Figaro sailor Jonny Malbon has been in the Mediterranean competing in the WOW Cap Istanbul race. A day at the Artemis Offshore Academy selection trials 28 - 09 - 10

The first round of the Artemis Offshore Academy selection trials have come to an end. A total of 33 candidates, hoping to be chosen for the Development Squad, were put through their paces under the scrutiny of the selection committee. Jonny Malbon, ‘en route’ to the Figaro season grand finale 14 - 09 - 10

Third and last event of the 2010 French singlehanded offshore championship, the Cap Istanbul race will start on Sunday 19 September. Twenty-four skippers will race from Hyères (France) to Istanbul (Turkey) via Ragusa (Sicily), Athens (Greece), Didim (Turkey) and Bozcaada (Turkey).

Candidates Chosen for Artemis Offshore Academy First Selection Trials 10 - 09 - 10

Thirty-two candidates have now been selected for the first round of the Artemis Offshore Academy Selection Trials starting Monday, 13th September. The new candidates will undergo their assessment under the watchful eye of new Performance Director, John Thorn, at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy – the sailing venue for the 2012 Olympics.

Artemis Ocean Racing claim overall victory in Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland Race 02 - 09 - 10

The Royal Ocean Racing Club confirmed this morning at 1100 BST that the IMOCA 60 Artemis Ocean Racing had claimed overall victory in the 2010 Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland Race. “Whilst there are still yachts racing in the Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland Race, the unusual easterly winds are hampering progress to the finish. There is no real possibility of a competing yacht eclipsing the corrected time set by Artemis Ocean Racing…”

Pip Hare 17th overall in the 2011 Charente-Maritime/Bahia Transat 6.50 Series Class

The Mini-Transat, as this race is more popularly known, saw Artemis Offshore Academy Associate member and first-time Mini-Transat sailor Pip Hare arrive into the windy Brazilian port of Bahia having achieved her goal of finishing in the top 15 of the Series class for leg two.
