With two days of coastal racing in Les Sables d’Olonne - the iconic home of the Vendée Globe - followed by a 320 mile offshore race, the Solo Maitre Coq is about as close to a Solitaire Bompard Le Figaro dress rehearsal as you can get.

For both practiced Figaro veterans and Rookies alike, the Solo Maitre Coq offers the opportunity to test boat handling and endurance during back-to-back racing.

The inshore racing series requires speed, agility and a tactical thinking, while the offshore element of the competition demands endurance and intelligence.

For the competitors, the Solo Maitre Coq is the longest and most intense competition pre-Solitaire and is the perfect practice race - a test of physical and mental strength and performance while increasingly fatigued.

For 2016 the Solo Maitre Coq inshore series will take place over 18th and 19th April from Port Olona, with the 350nm offshore race around Belle Ile and Ile d’Yeu starting Thursday 21st April.
