Artemis Investment Management has supported sailing from grass roots to the highest level since 2006.

Artemis - the profit hunter2006
• Investment Management company Artemis begin its association and support of British sailing.
• July: a high profile campaign is developed around an IMOCA 60 offshore racing team, launched under the name “Artemis Ocean Racing”.
• August: the newly branded Artemis Ocean Racing IMOCA 60 (initially launched in 2002) sets off on her first race, the Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland race, eventually taking line honours with Jonny Malbon as skipper.
• November: skippered by round-the-world record holder Brian Thompson, Artemis Ocean Racing takes 6th place in the classic single-handed Route du Rhum between France and Guadeloupe, after 13 days and 17 hours at sea.

Artemis challenge start2007
• June: Artemis Ocean Racing, skippered by Jonny Malbon, competes in the Calais Round Britain Race and finishes 6th, as the first of the older generation IMOCA 60s to cross the line.
• August: The Artemis Challenge, staged at the world-famous Cowes Week, makes its debut. The event sees a fleet of IMOCA 60s charging around the Isle of Wight in a unique race, raising money for good causes. A £10,000 prize fund is donated by Artemis and goes to the winner’s choice of charity.
• October: construction of the new Artemis IMOCA 60 starts in Lymington (UK).
• November: second transatlantic campaign for the team, this time double-handed from France to South America. Unfortunately, after four days at sea, Jonny Malbon and Graham Tourell see the mast of the IMOCA 60 break in very heavy seas.

• April: Artemis Ocean Racing II is launched.
• May: Artemis’ sailing event portfolio increases with the advent of The Artemis Transat, heir of the original 1960 OSTAR, first-ever single-handed race across the Atlantic. Thirteen of the best soloists of the world take the start in Plymouth, and the race is eventually won by French legend Loïck Peyron in Boston. In doing so, Peyron captures his third win on the course and beats the master Tabarly himself.
• August: Artemis Ocean Racing II makes her first competitive outing during the second edition of the Artemis Challenge.
• November: Jonny Malbon and Artemis Ocean Racing II take the start of the Vendée Globe (round-the-world, solo, non-stop). After a solid start, both boat and skipper survive a huge storm in the Bay of Biscay while many teams have to retire due to gear failure.

• January: due to mainsail delamination, Jonny Malbon is forced to pull out of the Vendée Globe halfway, and heads towards New Zealand to be met by the technical team.
• June: Jonny Malbon takes the helm of the Artemis Figaro-Bénéteau II One-Design, with the aim of taking part in the 40th edition of the classic “Solitaire du Figaro”.
• June: the Even Keel project opens its first site at UKSA in Cowes. At the heart of the programme is a specially created fleet of 20-foot keelboats (the Artemis 20s) that enable disabled sailors to compete on an equal platform with able-bodied crews.

Rolex fastnet 2009• August: Artemis Ocean Racing II, skippered by Samantha Davies, finishes second in the Rolex Fastnet Race. Artemis Ocean Racing I, renamed The Profit Hunter, finishes 8th at the hands of a crew of up-and-coming young British sailors.
• August: After 1800 miles at sea and against the best single-handed experts, Jonny Malbon finishes the Solitaire du Figaro with a 9th place in the “Rookie” division (15 entrants),.
• November: Sam Davies and Sidney Gavignet complete the double-handed Transat Jacques Vabre between France and Costa Rica aboard Artemis Ocean Racing II.

Artemis offshore academy figaros2010
• June: The Artemis Offshore Academy, aimed at developing British solo talent on the international racing scene, is launched in London.

A great start for Sam Goodchild and Nick Cherry in the 3890nm Transat AG2R La Mondiale

At 13.00 CET on Saturday 21st April, Artemis Offshore Academy sailors Sam Goodchild and Nick Cherry set off on the 3890nm race across the Atlantic in the 11th edition of the Transat AG2R La Mondiale; from Concarneau to Saint Barths.
