Today the Squad will have their longest race yet of 190nm as part of their qualifier series for the scholarship position. The race will see them start at La Grande Motte then heading over to Marseilles with some challenging navigation around the islands and then racing back to La Grande Motte. There will be 12 boats in total including some French sailors. On the docks this morning there is an air of excitement and anticipation amongst all the sailors!

We have one tracker on Nick Cherry’s boat so you can follow his progress here.

The forecast is for light to medium winds initially from the north but then swing round to the southwest.
